The Basics That’s what this car is. In today’s high-tech automotive world, the Volvo 240 has the basic requirements for a modern vehicle that you can hop in and go anywhere, anytime: Electronic Port Fuel Injection An Airbag 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes (ABS was an optional extra) Air Conditioning Adjustable Seats A Radio Other than that, it has only what every other car needs to run and drive, like a drivetrain… and some wheels.

Ah, 114hp of pure Volvoy reliability. The joy of being slow. I never have to try and prove something with this car. I know I’m slow. Race me. Do it. I’ll lose. I’m the best at losing. You can’t lose to me.

I hate to say it, I really do, but I deeply miss the old girl. She was real. Mechanical. Simple. Fun. My new car if you’re wondering is a 2000 Volvo V70 XC SE. My new V70 just feels disconnected. The List (of one’s that I can remember well) -1999 Chrysler Town & Country -1999 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport -2006 Chevrolet Uplander LS -2004 Chrysler Town and Country

I drive this car every once in a while, usually when my Volvo is having work done. It’s my stepbrother’s car and he doesn’t use it because he’s in Australia, where this car was actually built. Google will tell you the Diamanté weighs about 3,500lbs or so, but the markings on the car say otherwise: 4,430lbs. Almost 2 1/4 tons.
