The Hawk 250 is a Chinese clone of a Honda CRF. It has a 230cc single-cylinder carbeurated engine that is an exact copy of a 1980-something Honda motor. You can buy these brand new for less than $1,500 which made it a tempting option for my first bike. I’ve put over 1000 miles on it since April 2019 and have had zero mechanical issues.

10. Mk4 Volkswagen Golf GTI Often labelled as the worst Golf GTI, this enthusiast choice is easy to find in the classifieds for under $5k with a bearable amount of mileage.
