The year was 1979 and SAAB was still busy making mad cars with equity mad ideas to follow, but for every idea that completely didn’t work they had 1 or 2 witch did, and did brilliantly witch brings us on to the SAAB 99 Turbo, crucially the turbo part of that name. Now of course SAAB were not the first to try there hand at turbocharging a car that would have been ether BMW or Porsche. However where they company were putting them in there really high end race cars and very expensive road cars, SAAB saw a gap in the market and went for it.

Ok so lets get one thing straight i was a very late 90’s kid but when i was old enough to figure out how a TV worked i found these channels called ITV and Motors TV and on there you could find such things as F1, motoGP, rally cross and even rallying but above all else there was the BTCC by far the best racing series to ever exist and probably one of that last good racing series to exist.

So everyone has heard of tuning company’s, but maybe not one called paramount performance who made this monster along side the company chasseur, there goal was to take a completely normal jaguar X300 and basically turn it into a supercar destroyer but without modifying the shape or making it to obvious that this was one very angry cat underneath. But they soon realised that Jaguar X300 wasn’t a particularly catchy supercar name so they came up with this, Jaguar X300 Chasseur Stealth Tornado.

well this was BMW’s chance to get into group B rallying so what what went so wrong for them, today in this blog post i will tel you all of the good and also the bad things about this homologation special, first of all a homologation special is In Motorsports, homologation is the approval process through which a vehicle, a race track, or a standardised part is required to go for certification to race in a given league or series and to enter specific races the manufacturer must come up with road going versions of there race car in order to enter.

The Toyota sports 800, is what opened the flood gates for small sports cars all over the world that we all know and love, it was the first ever affordable production sports car for the Japanese domestic market, and its success sparked japan to go sports car crazy. with cars such as the 2000GT, celica, mr2 just to name a few, and here is how it done it.

With a top speed of 240mph matching the F1 with its massive 800 hp 7.7 litre V12 but in my opinion this car is forgotten about as it’s in no games, last time I saw it it was in forza 3 and it’s rather rare as only 1 remains (insured) on the uk roads today yep 1 so this makes it probably one of the top 10 rarest cars in the uk and a couple of years ago 1 was sold for almost £2,000,000, so what do you think guys
