Dangel is a French specialist automobile company that produces 4x4 version of both Citroëns and Peugeots since 1980. Currently they only modify vans, such as the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Boxer. In the past they have also done normal family cars, such as my personal favourite: the 505 Break 4x4 Dangel.

Piero Taruffi was an Italian Racing driver, who competed in Formula One from 1950 until 1956. During his F1 career he drove for some big teams, like Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo. During his career he won a couple big events, such as the 1952 Swiss Grand Prix and the 1957 Mille Miglia. He also wrote a couple books about racing, but one of his biggest achievements was when he designed his own record-breaking race cars.

After huge successes in both rally and endurance racing Peugeot decided to enter Formula One as an engine supplier. They switched to F1 for the 1994 season and developed a modified version of the 3.5L V10 found in the Peugeot 905 which they won the 1992 and 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans with. The 905 even finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd during the 1993 event.

Hans Heyer has quite an unusual F1 record. He is the only driver ever to get disqualified after he failed to finish a race which he was never even allowed to start. He entered the German Grand Prix in 1977 driving for ATS. He didn’t have a lot of experience with single-seater cars and his car was also just slow, so he didn’t manage to qualify for the race, which meant he wasn’t allowed to start.

Prior to the 2014 season, the driver’s racing numbers were based of the driver’s finish position in the previous season. So the champion got to drive with number 1 the next season, the runner up with number 2, etc. But it has happened twice, that a racing driver drove with number 0, which was in 1993 and 1994, both times it was Damon Hill who drove with that number.

Peter Gethin won the 1971 Italian Grand Prix with a margin of just 0,01 over Ronnie Peterson in second. François Cevert finished 3rd, just 0.09 seconds behind Gethin with Mike Hailwood just 0.09 seconds behind Cevert and Howden Ganley 0.43 seconds behind Hailwood. This meant the entire top 5 finished within just over 0.5 seconds behind the winner. This was the first and last time Gethin ever stood on the podium in an F1 race. That’s all for now, have a nice day :) Marijn M.

The Alfa Romeo Arna (stands for Alfa Romeo Nissan Autoveicoli), produced from 1983 until 1987 had the potential of becoming an amazing car. It was build in cooperation with Nissan. Just imagine what it could’ve been, a car with a beautiful body designed by Alfa Romeo with very reliable engines build by Nissan, it could’ve been a great succes. Yet for some reason they decided to give it Alfa Romeo engines and to let Nissan design it. So it ended up being an ugly and boring hatchback which was also very unreliable.

My 107 is pretty slow, so I was thinking of getting an open air intake. My question is, do they really increase power and would it be a good idea to do on a 6 year old car?

This weird looking car, produced from 1949 until 1956 was Saab’s very first production car. The 92 looked like no other car due to its very aerodynamic shape, this wasn’t just purely for the looks though, because the car only had a 764cc two stroke engine with just 25bhp it needed to have a very low drag coefficient. They definitely succeeded since the 92 has a drag coefficient of just 0,30.

I’d pick the BMW this time, I’m not a huge fan of the 300SL Roadster’s headlights. Have a nice day :) Marijn M

For the 1963 Paris Motor Show Pininfarina was asked to redesign the C2 Corvette. What they came up with was the Pininfarina Rondine Coupe. Unlike the original C2, the Rondine Coupe’s body was made completely made of steel instead of Fiberglass, which significantly increased the car’s weight and changed the way it handled. Chevrolet didn’t really care about the compromised handling, since it just a one-off car designed for a car show.

Here are a couple fun facts about the much loved Ford Model T :) Did you know

No, this is not some weird Volkswagen Golf replica. It’s a Porsche 928 with a Golf body build by Guenter Artz. Because a 928 is significantly larger than a Golf he had to change the body a lot. The body had to be both lengthened and widened, the windows are unique and had to be made specifically for this car. Specs Engine: 4.5-Litre V8 Transmission: 5-speed manual Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive Body style: two door hatchback Have a nice day :) Marijn M.

Every petrolhead knows that flying lady that prances on top of pretty much every Rolls Royce, even most non-petrolheads know they’re looking at a very expensive car, as soon as they see that ornament on top of a car’s bonnet. The Spirit of Ecstasy , often referred to as “The Flying Lady” is Rolls Royce’s bonnet ornament. It resembles a bend over woman with her arm stretched out behind her. Billowing cloths run from her arm to her back, resembling the wings.

There are arguably a few cars that are as beautiful as the 1948 Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport Coupe Saoutchik. It’s exotic looks and curvy lines are designed by the Ukrainian furniture designer, Jacques Saoutchik.

This car, 1952 Pegaso Z-102 Berlineta ENASA Cúpula, with its exaggeratedly curvy lines was an one-off car designed and build by a company who were known for building trucks and buses.

The Benz Patent-Motorwagen was an automobile developed by the Rheinische Gasmotorenfabrik Benz & Cie, or Benz for short. This brand would later become known as Mercedes-Benz. It’s often regarded as the very first automobile, that was specifically designed to be propelled by an internal combustion engine. The original cost of the car was 600 German marks (around 150 US dollars) this is equivalent to around 4.000 dollars in 2016).

Perfectly restored Lancia Aurelia, only 521 made. This car has only driven 29 miles and is in perfect condition. The car has a 2.5L V6 with two Weber 40DCL5 carburettors, and a special inlet manifold from Nardi & C. which was a very rare optional part back then. Have a nice day Marijn M.
