The Volvo 245 Transfer was a special edition of the Volvo 200-serie produced from 1977 until 1981. As you can probably see the Transfer is quite a bit longer than the normal 245. The Transfer is 73 centimetres longer than the already pretty big 245, giving the car an impressive length of 561 centimetres, making the car 22cm longer than a Rolls Royce Ghost and exactly the same length as a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead. The car also has a third row of seats.

The Polo Harlequin was a special edition VW Polo produced from 1995 until 1998. The car is powered by the same 1.6L engine as the normal Polo, the only difference were the peculiar colours. Volkswagen originally build only 20 of them, just for fun. But the car was received so well by the public that they decided to build more of them. The plan was to build 1.000 of them, but they ended up building 3.400 of them.

Gatso was a Dutch car company founded just after the Second World War in 1948 by Dutch racing driver and inventor Maus Gatsonides. Originally he wanted to call his company Gatford, but, according to Ford, this name was too similar to the French word “matford”; so they forced Gatsonides to change the name of his company. Because the company went bankrupt after only a couple years, they only managed to build two models: the 4000 and the 1500 (the car in the picture above).

The Citroën 2CV was a small front-engine and front-wheel-drive car produced by Citroën from 1948 until 1990. The car was mainly used to try to motorize the French farmers who often still used horses and carts. It was the perfect car for the normal civilian, because the car was cheap to maintain. The first 2CV’s were powered by a 375cc H2 engine producing only 9hp. The later models produced 29hp. The only design requirements was that the customer should be able to drive across a freshly ploughed field with a basket of eggs in the car without any of the eggs breaking.

The Volvo PV was a series of two- and four-door passenger cars made by Volvo from 1947 to 1966. In the early stages of the Second World War Volvo believed that due to the lack of raw materials caused by the war car manufacturers should focus more on making smaller and more affordable cars. This way they didn’t use that many materials, so they could build more cars. In 1944 Volvo revealed the car to the car-hungry public. It was immediately a huge succes and orders poured in from all across Sweden. Yet it would take another three years before the production finally started.
