8 Woeful Fake Exhaust Tips We’ve Seen Lately
Car makers just can’t seem to help themselves when it comes to designing-in fake exhaust tips, and we’ve just got to call some of them out on it
Those of you who’ve been with us a while will know that this isn’t the first time we’ve compiled a list of offenders when it comes to crimes against exhaust design. A few years ago we highlighted seven sinners with pointless, and slightly embarrassing, fake tips.
Sadly the trend still hasn’t burned in the fires of Hades like we want it to. We’ve seen a glut of them again lately and it’s name-and-shame time again. Sit back and let your blood slowly (or quickly) boil over yet another batch of shamefully-designed rear ends.

Mercedes just infuriates me, they can’t style cars to save their life and they do fake exhausts on almost every car
The Mégane and 850i are fine tbh, they aren’t fake exhausts they’re just pieces surrounding the exhaust pipes, unlike Mercedes who always tries to hide them.

tbh, apart from mercedes and the atlas, they all seem ok. The A7’s aren’t even fake exhausts, it’s just trim
These are almost all trim pieces around the exhaust. Mercedes is the only real offender here.

This! Why?!?!?!?!? And honestly, if this was only on “normal” cars, I wouldn’t mind. But on “super” cars? Argh!
I like how you put Mercedes and Audi in the same group as all the other companies. Since Mercedes and Audi are the only ones to ACTUALLY make fake tips while the rest just have a big tip on the end of smaller ones.
