This is me and my dad, and we are stood next to my absolute pride and joy (Betty the Beetle). This post however isn’t about her as such, it is about that man stood next to me.
This is me and my dad, and we are stood next to my absolute pride and joy (Betty the Beetle). This post however isn’t about her as such, it is about that man stood next to me. He put real blood (take the bonnet off beetles when working under them, they catch you out big time!) sweat, and tears in to this restoration for me and 5 years later she is just about ready to make her way on to the roads. We have had a lot of help along the way but he has truly been grafting on this from building a sandblasting cabinet in our shed to working in there till the early hours of the morning, killing himself for me. I just want to say thank you Dad for giving me the best thing that money cant buy. You. And so for this I would like to ask if Car Throttle could post this on their Facebook page and everyone to share to show my Dad that not only I but everyone else appreciates the work he has put in to it and for the world to see how he made my dreams a reality.
Thank you Dad,
Benjamin Stephens

Respect man, i am really surprised to see this. Good job to you and your father
great job, guys, and especially you Ben, for recognizing that your father’s real gift wasn’t the car.
Adnaaaaaaaaaaaaan, this! Facebook! Now!
I want it on there so much so he can see it and be genuinely surprised :D
No, it’ll just be full of unrelated image comments and hate.
And then there’s my dad, not even interested in claiming the insurance and fixing the hanging parts of the body #noregrets
I was going to make a blinked fluid leaking joke. But honestly this is amazing, my dad helps me with car issues too and thus really got to me. This is what being a petrolhead is truly about!
Screw facebook, this needs to be the next Reader’s Rides
Classic car restoration is always fun with a loved one :)
