10 Funny Car Ads To Turn That Mid-Week Frown Upside Down

Check out this list of 10 funny, but banned car ads...

Selling a car ain't easy, especially when the competition is so fierce. Which is why car makers have to don their creativity caps to create an ad so shocking or funny, that us punters can't help but stand up and take notice. Usually, however, it's these awesome ads that are banned from our telly boxes. But not the internet. Here are 10 of the best:

10. Can You Say Bollocks?

Children who swear are funny. As long as they're not your children, of course. Here's VW's funny take on a cursing dad who accidentally fills up with petrol instead of diesel. Because the Passat TDI engine is just that refined and powerful. Obviously.

9. Big what now?

This ad offers a funny take on generalisations. Why banned I hear you ask? Apparently, it's because of racism since it's the chap in the blue shirt talking about his big 'car'.

8. Plenty of space for hot chicks

A banned commercial for the new Fiat 500L. But not because of near-nudity, or the fact a kid was in back seat with the seat belt at his throat. It's because these lovely ladies were too distracting for the driver. Not cool.

7. Tough enough to withstand a bomb

We reckon most of you are intelligent enough to work out why this was banned.

6. Anything but cute

This ad wasn't banned because of this indecent dog, rather the fact that he wasn't wearing his seat belt at the time.

5. Wrong Knob

Not technically a car advert, but this hilarious ad for the German equivalent of Specsavers does feature a very lucky car in it.

4. Back seats are dangerous!

See, Smarts live up to their name! No back seats means no assassins trying to kill you.

3. The car you'd kill for

Toyota reckons the Rav4 is so good to drive you'd end up killing your partner just to get behind the wheel. If it was for the GT86, we'd certainly agree.

2. Too many doors are bad

The Veloster is a coupe but with the added practicality of a rear passenger side door, which protects you from death.

1. Pigeon vs evil Ford Ka

It's a crying shame that this hilarious advert was pulled, but we're assuming it may have been the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) who stuck their oars in...
