10 Things Hamilton Could Have Done Instead Of Signing A New Mercedes Deal

Two-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a new three-year contract with Mercedes, but if he'd turned down the deal, how might he have spent his days without a Formula 1 car to pilot?

1. Made a shock move to Manor

The beloved backmarkers could do with an experienced, quick driver to lead the team forward. Hamilton is the perfect fit! They would struggle to match the salary he is getting at Mercedes, though…

We all know Lewis likes to spend his spare time making music, and he’s even hinted that some bangin’ tunes could come out from the F1 champion in the future. If he does release a single, you’ll find us hiding behind the sofa with our fingers in our ears.

I'm back online. Here's Roscoe in my F1 car haha

Hamilton has two dogs? No, who knew? Anyone who has spent even five seconds on his #blessed Instagram account, that’s who. Roscoe is already a paddock regular and Coco probably will be soon, so how about a new Paddock Club just for dogs?

4. Joined Ferrari

This could have been an option for Hamilton. With Ferrari yet to confirm a contract extension for Kimi Raikkonen, driving for F1’s most iconic team was probably considered.

5. Switched to WEC

It is hard to compare F1 and the FIA World Endurance Championship, as they are very different series. But there is no denying the fact that the WEC is pretty damn awesome and is a serious possibility for any of the F1 grid, including Hamilton.

Because the pictures on his Instagram account need some serious improvement.

Apparently enough people want to know about the lives of Roscoe and Coco that they have an Instagram account, so a vlogging channel would be the natural next step.

8. Returned to McLaren

He spent six seasons at McLaren, with some very fond memories. Hamilton said “never say never” about a return to the team, but multi-year deals for Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso would have made things a bit more difficult…

His relationship with the former Pussycat Doll has been so on and off that we can barely keep up. They recently separated, but with that largely down to work commitments, maybe a break from F1 would have given them a chance to sort out their issues?

Hamilton certainly has a unique sense of style. ‘Different’ would be a polite way to describe it. Perhaps setting up his own clothing line would have been an option. Let’s hope not, eh?
