In another busy weekend of motorsport - which included Formula 1, Nascar and BTCC - here are 10 things for you to catch up on:

1. Epic battles in GIFs

We got to see some fantastic fights during last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix. Here are just a few of them in GIFs. Enjoy.

We thought this was pretty cool. Astronaut Reid Wiseman tweeted a photo of the Monza circuit on Saturday, just after qualifying, from the International Space Station.

3. Turkington domination

British Touring Car Championship leader Colin Turkington extended his advantage after winning the first two races at Rockingham in dominant style last weekend. He was unchallenged in both events, with plenty of action going on behind him as other drivers battled for position.

Alain Menu started race three from pole after his number was selected in the reverse grid draw, but he fell behind Rob Austin at the start. The Audi driver extended his advantage and took a clean first win of 2014.

4. From saloon to hatchback

A huge crash in race one between Lee Wood and Warren Scott caused the rear of the former’s Toyota Avensis to be completely destroyed. Fortunately both drivers were okay but it forced them to miss races later in the day.

The Nascar Sprint Cup series was in action at the Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night, with Brad Keselowski leading all but 17 of the 400 laps to score his fourth win of the season. He also secured the number one seed in the 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup.

The final two spots were taken by Ryan Newman and Greg Biffle, after they finished in ninth and 20th respectively. The race also featured a very unusual caution period, after a crazy fan climbed the catch fencing to take a selfie…

After finishing in eighth place at the Richmond International Raceway, six-time Nascar Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson had to be helped out of the car after suffering from leg cramps and dehydration. He was taken to the track’s medical centre, where he stayed for 90 minutes before being released.

Kyle Busch controlled the Nascar Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250 race at the Richmond International Raceway on Friday night, leading every lap to win his fourth race of the season. Chase Elliott finished second, ahead of Kevin Harvick.

Petter Solberg extended his lead at the top of the World Rallycross standings, after taking the World RX of France victory – his third win of the 2014 season. The former WRC champion finished ahead of Reinis Nitiss and Timmy Hansen.

9. Palmer extends championship lead

Jolyon Palmer extended his lead in the GP2 standings last weekend at the Monza circuit. The Brit started Saturday’s feature race, won by Stoffel Vandoorne, from the back of the grid after being excluded from qualifying following a fuel irregularity.

He finished eighth, before winning the sprint race from pole position after the grid was reversed. His title rival Felipe Nasr was sixth in both events, but lost ground in the championship fight. Sunday’s race was chaotic to say the least, largely due to the poor driving of Sergio Canamasas…

10. Eriksson and Stoneman take GP3 wins

The GP3 series was also in action at Monza, producing two exciting races at the iconic track. Jimmy Eriksson took victory on Saturday, from ART Grand Prix’s Dino Zamparelli and Marvin Kirchhofer.

Marussia Manor Racing’s Dean Stoneman then took the victory in Sunday’s race - making the day a British clean sweep in GP2, GP3 and F1 - from Alex Lynn and Kirchhofer.
