Plan a trip with your mates this summer to an off-road park where you’ll enjoy off-road trails, music, food and camping while spending less than you would on a hotel for a couple of nights. Here are our picks:

2. Redneck Yacht Club, Florida
Only open for weekend events, but these two and three-day events are full of entertainment with food, music and some good mud splashin’ in the sun.
3. Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Georgia
Challenging trails are spread throughout two stretches of wilderness in central and northern Georgia. The forests have camp grounds on site. The trails vary in difficulty, but most are not beginner friendly.
Drive the dunes along Lake Michigan in this off-road area of 450 acres. Tonnes of special events are hosted here throughout the year.
5. Rausch Creek Off-Road Park, Pennsylvania
Long trails full of mud highlight Rausch Creek. The area is well maintained, and there are appropriate trails for all skill levels.
6. The Cliffs Insane Terrain Off-Road Park, Illinois
Insane trails wind through the woods here with no shortage of mud. Easier trails are routed along the way to avoid the big obstacles, so everyone can get in on the fun.
7. The Mounds Off-Road Vehicle Park, Michigan
Open 365 days a year, The Mounds has over 230 acres of riding with rocks, hills, sand and mud. Low entry prices and well-kept grounds make this a quality destination.
8. Moab, Utah
Go with a trail guide or your own crew through hundreds of miles of old mining roads. Climb over rocks, cliffs, dirt and gravel as you take in the beautiful scenery of Moab, Utah.
9. Brick's Off-Road Park, Missouri
Extreme swampers meet here to beat mud, water pits and hills. The park even has boat races in its man-made channels.
10. Rocky Mountain Terrain Park, Maine
Rock bed and creek bed climbs, mud and steep edges make up the difficult land in the Rocky Maountain park. The site is open all year round, and offers a wide variety of activities beyond trail riding and camping.
11. Hollister Hills S.V.R.A., California
Home of several off-road competitions throughout the year, this 4x4 hot spot has over 24 miles of trails. It is state owned, so there are other amenities on the grounds.
12. Gator Run Off-Road Park, Texas
This is off-roading heaven. There are so many hill climbs, mud pits, drags and obstacles, it’s no wonder why this spot is home to so many special events.
13. Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area, Texas
All the trails here are maintained by a group of volunteers and 4x4 fans. The site’s obstacles vary greatly from beginner trails to extreme climbs and cliffs.
14. Byrd's Adventure Center, Arkansas
Littered with challenging areas for experienced crawlers, Byrd’s Adventure Center is like a 4x4 playground. There is so much to play on with hills, mud, dirt and rocks everywhere you look.
15. Rubicon Trail, California
The Rubicon Trail is noted for its great scenery and long trails. Climb huge creek beds, rocks and dirt trails or stay on the milder path, where just about any 4x4 truck will survive.
