You’re looking at the first images of the new Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe. The car was expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show later this month, however these images appear to show the car in final production form.

The leak comes shortly after Mercedes revealed the standard C-class coupe, and its divisive styling had us worried for the incoming C63 model. As you can see from these pictures, which were obtained by Zero2Turbo, in go faster guise the coupe loses much of its soft, rounded edges in favour of more angular AMG addendum. This is a good thing.

The black/carbonfibre bootlid spoiler, angular rear diffuser and quad-tipped exhausts manage to dispel much of the uninspiring design seen on the standard coupe, however the rear window section still looks oddly proportioned. The front end looks largely unchanged, however a redesigned front bumper appears to play host to extra cooling.

The C63 Coupe will be powered by a 503bhp twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, and will go on sale in the UK in November, when it will take the fight to the BMW M4 and Lexus RC F.
