The 2024 Skoda Enyaq vRS Is Now The Brand’s Quickest-Ever Car

Skoda has given the Enyaq a decent uplift in power, making it the company’s fastest-accelerating car in its history

The Skoda Enyaq vRS is good at a lot of things, but dramatically raising one’s pulse isn’t exactly one of them. It’s far from the most exciting vRS, but Skoda has improved it in this regard, lopping a whole second off the 0-62mph time.

Thanks to “revisions, specification upgrades and technical improvements,” the 2024 version of the Enyaq vRS gets a 40bhp power bump to 335mph, dropping the 0-62mph time from 6.5 to 5.5 seconds. There’s no word on what’s happened to the top speed, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the electronically limited 111mph V-max has been retained.

The added poke hasn’t come at the cost of range. Recalibrated motors and new power management software have yielded an extra 16 miles of range in the ‘Coupe’ version (the slightly less slippery SUV gets an additional 15), bringing the total to 340 according to the WLTP cycle.

Once you need more juice, you won’t be hanging around for so long, as the DC rapid charging speed has gone up from 135kW to 175kW. So, with a fast enough charger and optimal conditions, you can take the 77kWh battery pack from 10 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes, eight minutes faster than before.

For anyone not convinced by the additional pace and better charging, Skoda is chucking in some additional equipment to sweeten the deal. Amongst the new goodies you’ll find travel assist and speed assist, ‘walk away’ locking, rear side airbags, rear window blinds, tow bar preparation and fresh USB-C rear charging points.

To further kit out the Enyaq vRS, there are a couple of equipment packs called Advanced and Maxx. For £2,035 Advance gets you a head-up display, heated rear seats, heated front windscreen and a Canton audio system, while Maxx includes electric front seats with a massaging function on the driver’s side, better parking cameras, adaptive dampers and a few other bits for £3,980. Regardless of how you spec your vRS, you get an improved infotainment system. 

The 2024 Enyaq vRS will go on sale before the end of October. Expect a small increase over the current £52,670 starting price.
