288mph Bugatti SuperVeyron Planned

Bugatti's mental 288mph project will have kids knocking their doors down

Word has it that Bugatti - maker of the world's most recognisable car - is planning a SuperVeyron, which will destroy Bug's own records.

While the current Bugatti Veyron's 8.0-litre W16 jet engine gives the hypercar a top speed of 259mph, the SV's 1600bhp tuned unit will allow the super-mega-hypercar to max out at almost 300mph! Reports suggest 288mph.

Obviously, that's not the only performance figure that's expected to be improved; the Veyron's 0-62mph time is also set to be slashed from 2.4sec to a scarcely believable 1.8sec.

Despite these monumental power figures, the SuperVeyron won't hold the crown as the most powerful street legal car. That accolade still belongs to Red Victor, which packs 3000bhp (yes, three thousand!) with 0-60mph dispatched in...wait for it...1sec.

Here's what that looks like
