3 Tips That Will Help You Improve The Quality Of Your Posts

Instead of downloading a picture from google or reposting a meme you liked isn’t it better to create your own photos/videos/articles? Let’s start!

Instead of downloading a picture from google or reposting a meme you liked isn’t it better to create your own photos/videos/articles? Let’s start!

1. Be creative.

3 Tips That Will Help You Improve The Quality Of Your Posts

Do something unique, create your own avatar, don’t copy someone else. For example: Don’t use Dominic Toretto/Ken Block etc. as your username. There’s nothing wrong with your name and if you don’t want to use your full name, create a username similar to it. (George Basdos -> GeoBaz) Don’t use a huge user name like DragonSkaterOfFabulousness1996 etc. Create photos and videos based on your life, on things you like and find funny, don’t post a photo just because it’s a trend on CT. Write your own story!

2. Use photo/video editing software.

3 Tips That Will Help You Improve The Quality Of Your Posts

Start getting to know a photo editing program. I recommend GIMP 2 because it’s kinda easy and free. You can watch youtube tutorials in order to learn how to use it. If you want to edit videos a great video editing software is Sony Vegas Pro. If you want something free, you can use Windows Movie Maker, it’s easy to use and you can add text, split videos, add music and more! If you don’t want to download a program and you want to edit your photos online, I recommend befunky photo editor (https://www.befunky.com/) and Picfont (http://picfont.com/). Do you want to create GIFs? Ez GIF (http://ezgif.com/) is what I recommend. You can convert videos to GIF, crop them, split them, resize them, add text, effects and many more!

3. Spend some time to double check your posts.

3 Tips That Will Help You Improve The Quality Of Your Posts

You already spend your time creating a photo/video/article. Spend some extra minutes to double check it. Make sure that you choose the right community. Yes, you can’t upload a Nissan 350z on the BMW owners community. Read the title again and see if you did any mistakes ‘’Hey gu;s th’;s is my b,mw n!smo’’ <— You don’t want this as a title. If you see that you did something wrong right after you created your post, use the ‘’Edit’’ button and edit your post.

Ok, that was my guide on how to improve the quality of your posts. Just remember, don’t post something just because you have to get many upvotes. Post something because you like it.

Number 3 is so important; as a journalism student, my life is basically fact-checking and reading my work over and over again. Here’s a piece of advice that I’ve learned along the way: have someone else read over your article before you finally post it. Here’s why: every time you revise, you find something you can change. Your work will never be finished if you keep revising and editing yourself. This other person could be a teacher, parent, or a friend who’s writing savvy.
