1. Diecast model car

Whether your dad is passionate about a specific car or owns a real life example himself, it’s always a good idea to take a look around the diecast market. Depending on your budget, you can select from a wide variety of sizes ranging from 1/87 scale all the way up to 1/18. Check out this guide to get a sense of the different dimensions.

Looking at the smaller end of the scale, Hotwheels boasts the best selection and value for money. For larger toys, it’s worth having a look through the current ranges of Bburago, Maisto and AUTOart. The detail that goes into some of the bigger models is truly astonishing.

2. Xtreme Xperience

Chances are your dad has been forced to drive a five-door Toyota people carrier for the past 10 years. It’s time to cheer him up and put him in one of Xtreme Xprerience‘s stunning supercars. You can choose from 15 incredible racetracks across the United States, and a selection of high-performance exotics. Your lucky old man will be accompanied by an experienced instructor who will guide him around the circuit. Experiences start at a very affordable $99, but we recommend going for the three car packages.

If you use the discount code ‘SUPERDAD‘ you’ll get 25 per cent off supercar track experiences at any 2016 event. Who’s in?

3. Automotive furniture

One of the best ways to recycle broken car parts is to turn them into beautiful pieces of automotive art. After a bit of sanding, polishing and painting most parts will look brand new, giving you a good base to convert them into sculptures, furniture and other bits of interior design. Doing it yourself will add sentimental value that your dad will no doubt appreciate.

Don’t have the time to fiddle in the shed? There are plenty of retailers online who sell coffee tables, office chairs and other cool items.

4. Waterless Wash & Wax

Dads like to keep things simple and having a shed full of 50 different car cleaning products does not exactly fit in with that philosophy. If you really want to surprise him, have a look at Smart Polish Pro’s Waterless Wash & Wax! It’s a quick detailer that cleans, waxes and protects all at the same time, saving him precious time and energy he could spend driving his beloved machine.

It’s perfect for quickly removing dirt, bird droppings or any other contaminants on the paint. Due to its liquid repellent properties, rain water will bead up and roll away from the surface, resulting in a spotless finish in all weather conditions. The one litre option is your best bet and it even comes with a free microfibre cloth. Don’t forge to use the discount code ‘WaxMe‘ for 10 per cent off at checkout.

5. Emergency jump starter

Did you know that the single most common reason for breakdowns is a flat battery? Your dad probably has better things to do than beg strangers for jump leads, so it’s time to sort him out with an emergency jump starter.

Among many other brands, Suaoki sells portable battery packs that can be used for emergency jump starts at any time. They are small enough to fit in your glove box and can even charge your USB devices. If you want to keep your dad safe, make sure invest in one of these bad boys.

6. Track sculptures

Why would you clutter your dad’s walls with paintings and family photos if you could show off the amazing curves of the Hockenheimring or Laguna Seca?

Track Sculptures offers a wide range of wall sculptures, wood murals, art prints and decals of almost every race track on the planet. A 16-inch wall hanging will cost you around $100 but you can find products for any budget on their website.

Olds Alero

Well, my dad likes the Lamborghini Countach, so if I could find a diecast one in my budget I could get that. The emergency jump starter might be good too, his F-150 breaks down all the time.

Man, I really wish, I could to give my dad our E34 just in restored condition. Sadly it has rust all over it and many problems which is why we have to sell it… :/

But the track sculptures seem to be a good present.
