8 Supercars The Bonkers New Audi RS6 'Performance' Can Beat To 62mph
With 552bhp on tap, all but the most power (and bragging right) obsessed car buyers will be satisfied with the earth-shattering levels of performance on offer from the current Audi RS6. However, Audi clearly wants to cater for the unsatisfied few, as the German company has now revealed the RS6 and RS7 ‘Performance’, which have both had their 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8s cranked up by 45bhp and 37lb ft of torque.
The new output stands at a particularly potent 597bhp and 553lb ft. The result of this near-600bhp of V8 violence is two tenths of a second being knocked of the 0-62mph time for each (plus the same top speed of up to 189mph, depending on what options you tick), bringing the figure down to just 3.7 seconds.
This seems particularly bonkers in the RS6, yours for £86,000. A practical, fairly ordinary-looking estate that’ll go from 0-62 in 3.7sec? That’s madness, and a lot quicker than a fairly impressive roster of recent (and not-so-recent) supercars, as we’ll now show you. Automotive progress is a wonderful thing…
