9 Reasons We Hope Apple Doesn't Buy McLaren
This week, it was rumoured that Apple was in talks with McLaren about a possible takeover. The reports were soon quashed by McLaren itself, and while that doesn’t rule out the possibility entirely, it’s probably best it doesn’t happen. After all, who knows what sort of ‘innovations’ Apple might bring to the McLaren stable given the chance.
These are the sort of things we’d have to look forward to…
Sat navs pre-loaded with Bono's voice
Yep, even if you didn’t ask for it.
Wheels that aren't even connected
Just like earphones, wheels have always been attached to the car. Which makes sense. But if Apple got involved…
Hilariously fragile windscreens
McLaren service centres replaced with Genius Bars
McLaren 650S Plus - 20% larger for no apparent reason
Apple Maps loaded as standard
Expect to get lost. A lot. While Bono shouts at you.
Fuel filler cap moved underneath the car
Because having it in an easy-to-reach area is just too mainstream. Also, you’d only be allowed to use official Apple fuel pumps. And they’ll change the nozzle every couple of years, so you’ll have to buy an adapter.
Chronic overheating
New line of 'Beats By Ron Dennis' headphones launched
Actually, maybe this one wouldn’t be so bad…

The first order of business would be for Apple to replace every part in the car with an inferior, out of date, Chinese made version and then immediately triple the price of every vehicle.
If this will actually happen i’m affraid that McLaren will turn into EA Games of car manufacturers
Every single important part will be an paid “DLC”
“Because having it in an easy-to-reach area is just too mainstream.”; “Chronic Overheating” & “McLaren 650s Plus - 20% larger for no apparent reason”

Apple’s shell would be so fragile. (Should 570S, not Chevy Spark).
Rest In Peace, McLaren.
They will take away the exhaust like they did with the head phone jack on the 7 and you have to buy one that is either made by them or have blootooth.
I supercar
Um, does that 20% bigger version of the 650S happen to suffer from extreme body flex?
You get a new version every 2 years and not alot changes.
does it come with predictive steering?
