The Abarth 124 R-GT Sounds Like It Needs Anger Management

Footage of Abarth's new rear-wheel drive rally machine undergoing testing has emerged, and it's all about angry noises and sliding

Want the most potent version of the Fiat 124 Spider possible? You’ll probably have the Abarth 124 in mind, but there is a pretty significant step up from that: the 124 R-GT.

Revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show alongside the regular Abarth 124, the €150,000 car has - hence the name - been built to FIA R-GT regulations. It puts out 296bhp from a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-pot, is still very much rear-wheel drive, and features radically overhauled suspension.

It’s seen testing in the footage above in preparation for the 2017 season. Sounds pretty angry, no?

It crates a pressure differential in the cabin to keep the dust from floating around

except the team behind the car have won 14 world championships. This car is the cheapest of all the RGT cars and by far the best

When was the last time Fiat made a car so good? I seriously can’t think about anything better than this

Yea they only needed a miata as a starting platform to accomplish this.

Note: I’m not hating on the fiat, just joking around. However I prefer the miata because i feel that the front of the fiat is too long whereas the miata is proportioned correctly.
