This Abarth 500X Is A Hot Crossover We Wish Fiat Would Make
We rather like the dinky Fiat 500 hatch here at CT, but when it comes to its more portly relatives - the 500L and recently revealed 500X - we’re not quite so interested. The 500’s styling doesn’t quite look right when stretched to the dimensions of either of those (much larger) cars, in our opinion.
That said, when we spotted these renders by X-Tomi Design, which depict an Abarth version of the 500X, we were gobsmacked as to how a little fiddle from Fiat’s tuning bods could transform the car so dramatically.
The exterior changes are nothing major - it’s been lowered, the front and rear bumpers tweaked, and white multi-spoke alloy wheels have been added at each corner - but it all adds up to a good-looking package. An Abarth’d 500X is unlikely to ever be made, but if it did, with something like a tweaked version of the 500X’s 181bhp, 2.4-litre ‘Tigershark’ engine under the bonnet producing north of 200bhp, it’d be an intriguing hot crossover.
What do you think?
