Absolute Drift: Zen Edition Is Coming To PS4 With More Drifting Madness

Absolute Drift is a simple, yet incredibly difficult game that first caught our attention two years ago. Its clean, elementary design convinced us to give it a whirl, but we were hit promptly with insane challenges that had us rolling in frustration. If you haven’t given it a try yet, let us be the first to warn you: Absolute Drift will take you away from everything you love in life for hours at a time, daring you to master the art of virtual drifting.

The game currently has more than 24 levels within three primary game modes: Drifting, Mountatin Drifting and Driftkhana. Five free-roaming areas are filled with obstacles that will have you feeling like a child in your own petrolhead playground. As you slide, jump, fly and roll your way around the levels, you’ll see black tyre trails giving an echo to the cool stunts you’ve performed. Since its initial release, the content has been updated to include new car customisation options and loads of new stunts.

Coming to PS4 in the third quarter of 2016, the Zen Edition comes with a bunch of new features to give veterans a new challenge and newbies an even more daunting prospect at startup. New stuff includes:

  • New challenges on existing tracks will push players with gradually increasing difficulty. So, for those of you who think you’ve finally mastered the game…you haven’t;
  • A new game guide and tutorial to help the newbs discover their inner Drift King;
  • Ghost cars to chase and replays to regret bad choices (or show off skills);
  • Midnight Events - Five night-themed tracks to further torment experienced players.

In preparation for the release of Zen Edition, Funselektor Labs is collaborating with ‘Race the Sun’ developer, FlippFly - both are indie studios, and will be sharing more drifty content in the coming months. If you already own Absolute Drift on PC/Mac/Linux through Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the Zen Edition free, and your game is cross-platform.

The upgrade is free if u already have the game. If not, it is pretty cheap on Steam right now.
