The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Is A Saucy SUV With Up To 503bhp
The Giulia may have been the first step in Alfa Romeo’s grand rebirth, but today the Italian company revealed what’s arguably a much more important element: the Stelvio.
Yep, car buyers worldwide can’t get enough of posho SUVs, so Alfa really has to nail the Stelvio. And in the looks department of the newly revealed car, we reckon it’s pretty well sorted.
It’s quick, too. Alfa has used the hot Quadrifoglio version to give the Stelvio the most bombastic entrance possible, and yes, it’s packing the same 503bhp 2.9-litre Ferrari-ish derived V6 as the hottest Giulia. It’s scarcely slower, hitting 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds.
Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with up to 100 per cent sent to the rearmost boots under most situations. Bringing things to a stop meanwhile are a set of carbon ceramic brakes.
Sound a bit much for you? Don’t worry, there will be a few cheaper, less powerful versions for normals. There’ll be a 2.0-litre four-pot turbo petrol kicking out 276bhp and 295lb ft of torque, and we’re expecting the Giulia’s 2.2-litre diesel lumps plus a lower powered 2.0-litre to make an appearance.
Expect to pay over £60,000 for the Quadrifoglio, with the rest of the range starting somewhere in the region of £35,000 - £40,000.
Would you have this, or a Porsche Macan?

Just add 204 horse power and you got hellcat jeep
I like it, but I’m hoping alfa will also make something to compete with BMW M2, F type and the likes
Maybe a Quadrifoglio version of the 4C?
some Alfisti I see on the internet seems like hating the Stelvio, saying it doesn’t stay true to the brand.
I doesn’t hate it, considering Alfa Romeo have made the Kamal concept and much more vehicle like buses and trucks in the past. but I doesn’t seem to be amused by it because what I see is just an enlarged 147 or Giuletta. well, at least it’s something in the seas of SUVs.
heck, FCA should take a Jeep Wrangler and rebadged it into Alfa Romeo Matta just for sh!t and giggles.
I just hope that it drives as well as it looks, in the normal versions as well. The looks alone should make it a strong rival against some of the SUV’s out there, since many of SUV buyers only care for that and the economy attached to it. Now I’m waiting for a Ring lap time, see if it goes the same way as the Giulia.
Globo Reporter mermao. Ta roubando meme brasileiro viado?

I’m not a fan of suv’s but I think that it looks as a fat stationcar
I’m just really excited for the fact that this is a RED S-class.
This or the new Maserati Levante? Hard decisions to make… If only I could afford either one, of course :P
