All You Need To Know About The Porsche 919's Button-Festooned Steering Wheel

When it comes to ludicrously complicated racing car steering wheels, F1 is king; most F1 car steering wheels have 35 or more buttons, after all. But as you can see, the helm of the hybrid Porsche 919 endurance racer isn’t that far off. And thanks to this great diagram from Porsche, we can see what every knob and switch does.

There are 24 controls in all, plus a multi-function display in the middle. The designers have thought long and hard about where to put them all, too. The most frequently-used controls are positioned toward the edge where they can be easily accessed by the driver’s thumbs, and all have a fluorescent coating so they are easier to see during night driving.
