Scott McLaughlin may have won the Gold Coast 600 round of the Australia Supercars series, but if there were a prize for ‘ballsiest moment’, the victor surely would have been James Courtney.
The 37-year-old showed amazing commitment at Surfers Paradise Street Circuit’s beach chicane during the Shootout round, coming incredibly close to hitting the wall. We challenge you to watch the video above without clenching hard.
Courtney bagged fourth in the Shootout, finishing sixth in the race. McLaughlin’s victory boosted his 2017 championship hopes meanwhile, with gap to current leader Jamie Whincup closing.
