Sad that you missed out on that Baby Driver Impreza WRX stunt car that was sold a few months back? Worry not - there’s another chance to get hold of one. And if anything, this particular example is even more tempting.

No, it’s not rear-wheel drive converted, but it does have a huge list of modifications. The headline is an STI powertrain swap done by Allpro Subaru in Alpharetta, Georgia. We also have a new front differential from OS Giken, a Cusco limited-slip diff at the rear, forged pistons, an Exedy clutch, and finally our favourite mod - a CNC hydraulic handbrake. Whether or not you use that for evading the police following an audacious bank heist with Jon Hamm is your business.

There are $20,000-worth of receipts for the car, which is also being sold with a build sheet, “interviews with stunt driver Jeremy Fry and others” (perhaps included on a DVD - it’s not specified), and “matched screen shots” for the ultimate pub brag.

Still not tempted? Don’t forget, you’ll be in good company owning one of these - Baby Driver star Ansel Engort also has a WRX used in filming of the Edgar Wright flick, which was gifted to him after production wrapped.

The only trouble is, it’s not going to be cheap. It’ll go under the hammer at Mecum’s Houston auction which runs from 5-7 April, and although there’s no estimate, we do know the last one that came up for sale sold for nearly $70,000.

Sad thing is, with the movie-history it’s more likely to be stored to collect value rather than being driven.

Why do you want it to be driven? This car has history in it and it should be preserved like that. You can buy another WRX to drive if you want there are shit ton if them.

I am actually totally OK with that. You can always buy a WRX and drive it around but this is more than a normal WRX. Think of the Mustang from Bullitt for example, would you want someone driving it every day where it could get into a serious accident? Or would you rather it be saved so that many generations can get enjoyment out it.

I was left disappointed as well. But from a critical perspective, Eiza González and Jamie Foxx’s characters were practically made for them. I enjoyed the dialogue, but the plot was messed up after an hour and the editing looked rushed and lacklustre. Not to mention the lack of car chases, much to my disappointment - especially as the trailer promised a badass Hellcat scene!

Hell yeah! (I love this movie.) Now it’s time to check my pockets for how little money I have.
