Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

There have been some Grand Tour episodes I’ve not been too fond of thus far, but the two part Namibia special that’s just been on seemed like a high point. It felt just like ‘old times’, albeit with more budget and a little more swearing.

Clarkson, Hammond and May were at their witty best, the familiar chemistry backed up with some great action, truly epic cinematography and a dash of drama. But here’s the thing: I had to do a little catching up on the series to reach that point, as I’d fallen behind.

Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?

This perhaps shouldn’t be surprising: all series - whether they’re on a conventional TV channel or a streaming service - tend to have a decline in viewership after the first episode in a season, and it seems The Grand Tour isn’t immune. There are no viewing figures available from Amazon Prime, but certainly on CT we’ve noticed fewer people talking about the show, and a diminishing interest in the episode trailers when they crop up.

Like I said, nothing unusual: the ‘hype train’ has to depart at some point. But with the first series now a few episodes over the half way point, we thought we’d see how many of you are still keeping up with it, especially since the trio’s switch from TV to online is going to have a big effect on how you consume the content they make.

So, assuming you have been watching the series already, make your voice heard in the polls below, and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Here’s the thing I feel with GT. I don’t see the chemistry because it’s so ridiculously scripted. It shows through even more than it did in TG. What’s more is an episode of GT is the same length as a TG episode but they have less in it. And because of that things get dragged out and become very repetitive. The first half of the Namibia special was trash to me. 40 minutes of that hour long episode went like this “Clarkson and co. drive up a beach. Night falls and they drive back down it. Next day they drive back UP it only for them to have to drive back DOWN it.” It just hasn’t gotten it right yet but I’m still watching hoping that they finally will get it right.

I still watch it, and love this trio. As others mentioned, there are things that are not the best, but these 3 presenters, know how to do an enjoyable show. :)

Why must everybody post on social media if they’re watching it to prove their watching it.

How about just watching it and hopefully eventually ratings will coincide with what we’re watching.

Why the need to tell everyone everything were watching, and just watch it.

Why I hate social media

I’m still watching and for the most part enjoying it. To me the only issue seems to be, there is no longer anyone to say no Jeremy. I get the feeling that if he has an idea for a segment he just bullies his way in to making it regardless of how dumb it is or anyone elses opinion on it. If they could rein in the silly ideas just a little they would have a great show.

that why Top Gear worked because Clarkson got his way, when the BBC got full control expect for a few shows it was rehashs from pervious seasons and clarkson who wrote Top Gear was bored silly. when allowed to be himself Top Gear took off, that why Amazon have given him Creative control it worked and the shows have been better as Clarkson look moviated as a writer again not been told no by the BBC that why they lost control let him go and deal with heat come your way that why Amazon will get more out off him than the BBC who tried to control him instead off let him bei himself.

Enjoying every episode, they’ve all been relatively good except for the one where they were repeatedly killed in the military skit.

My only problem with The Grand Tour is The American, he sounds like a person you would like to punch in the face and his comments are not funny.
