While no one doubts the abilities of Porsche’s Panamera, its looks have faced the firing line.

But the Australian Police has solved the problem by throwing a volley of boys-in-blue livery and some subtle police lights at the German super-saloon. The result is a cop car that goes off the cool-scale compared to the standard model.

While this Panamera’s 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 engine delivers a whopping 414bhp and 384lb ft of torque (178mph and a 0-62mph time of 4.8secs), the car will be used purely as a promotional tool, attending community events and youth programmes around Sydney. Perhaps that'll change with the news that some Australian roads are set to have no speed limits, however...
