This ‘Barn Find’ Is A Dusty Treasure Trove Featuring Multiple Corvettes

Hidden collections of cars are uncovered all the time, but even so, this latest example of a ‘barn find’ treasure trove stands out.

The 23-car collection focuses mostly on Americana, with one exception - a 1996 993 Porsche 911 Carrera C4S with a mere 600 miles on the clock. There’s a wide range of ages, from a 1956 Chevrolet 210 going right up to a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro that’s covered just 47 miles.

The former owner Earl Trammel, who died in 2022, clearly liked his Corvettes, as they make up nearly half the collection with a mix of C3s, C4s and C5s. The mileages vary from just 23 miles to 30,000. There’s some really special stuff in the mix, including a 1998 Corvette Convertible Indy Pace Car and a ZR1 that’s only covered 25 miles. The 35th Anniversary ‘Vette even has plastic on the seats still.

After Trammel died, the collection was left to his ex-wife, who’s just sold it to John Clay Wolfe, CEO and founder of a firm called GiveMeTheVin.com. He plans to auction the whole lot in spring 2024.

All the cars look to be in fabulous condition, although of course, most will need recommissioning if they’re to see the road again - cars don’t like to be sat for extended periods of time.

Speaking about the collection, Wolfe said:

“I buy and sell more than fifty thousand vehicles a year and hold the world record for selling 1,500 cars in one day but I’ve never accomplished anything like this. The diversity of the collection – from the brand new ZR1 to the limited edition 35th Anniversary Corvette that still has the plastic on the interior – is sure to make car junkies salivate when these classics go on display in a few months.”
