Joking aside, the Spanish Grand Prix will be remembered - as well as Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg’s dramatic first-lap crash - for Max Verstappen’s dramatic debut win. The 18-year-old, who’s only just taken a seat at Red Bull Racing, clocked four F1 records at the race.

Just to clarify, those marshalls don’t get paid, they are volunteers who give their best to make everyone safe. They have to pass tests and two years of experience in “marshalling” (yay! new verb) are mandatory, but when you rely on volunteers things like this happen, and they’re not to blame.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m spanish and I liked the joke, but you know, I thought I had to clarify this. In the end, they don’t get paid for risking their lives while the board get their pockets filled.

Chief Marshal: “Hey, you wanna be a race marshal this weekend?”
That Marshal: “Hell yeh I do!”
Chief Marshal: “Wait, you DO know how to operate an extinguisher, right?”
Marshal:
