BMW Confirms Reborn 8 Series For 2018
BMW has finally given the green light for a new 8 Series, with production scheduled to start almost 20 years after the original was killed off.
The large coupe’s development has been going on for some time, but BMW has waited until now to make a call on whether or not to go ahead with the rival for the S-Class Coupe. To mark the occasion the brand has released a teaser image showing a low, sleek roof line and muscular-looking rear wheel arches.
There’s also a small boot lip spoiler that gracefully flicks the edge of the profile line upwards, extending the look of the flat boot lid. A concept car is said to be making its debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este later in May, with production set to start next year.
The original, complete with pop-up headlights, sits at the cooler end of BMW’s back catalogue, and that’s saying something. While the new one isn’t likely to see a V12, sadly, it will be among BMW’s fastest cars. An M8 is rumoured to be on the cards, featuring a twin-turbo V8. We’re looking forward to that.

The M760i is a V12 so maybe we’ll get a M860i
Yes M8! I’m hoping that since it’s BMW, the driving feel will be sportier than an S-class Coupe - perhaps more like an Aston Martin.
Aston? Looks totally like a i8
Yaaaassss!!
When one of your favorite bmw is going to get an 2018 version
Would be crazy if they brought back the S85 V10, would be my favorite BMW and favorite BMW engine combined.
They need an S85 successor. To iron out all the flaws of the S85
M8, my M8 has a M8!
SaadAnwaar(#nissangtrisapc) Maybe this is our answer to the V10 BMW crisis?

Those DRLs are somewhere between current gen Golf and current gen Ford Falcon, right? I’m not just seeing stars?
And the Jaguar XJ. Starting to become a pretty common configuration.
