BMW Has Announced The Mighty Fine M4 Convertible 30 Jahre Edition
This is the BMW M4 Convertible 30 Jahre Edition. Take a good look while you can, because not many are going to be built.
Just 30 will make it to the UK (unlike this Japan-only duo), out of a total build schedule of 300. It’s not quite the standalone hero you might have been hoping for, but it’s no pushover. It’s based on the M4 with the Competition Package: the uprated 444bhp turbocharged six-shooter comes with the M Division exhaust and suspension as standard.
That means performance figures comprising a limited 155mph top speed, a 0-62mph sprint in 4.3 seconds and a thoroughly unlikely average fuel economy of 32.5mpg. It might be something of a last hurrah if emissions legislations continue killing fun BMWs…
Just two colours are offered in Britain. There’s the sensible and UK-exclusive Frozen Dark Grey Metallic, good for flying below the radar, and the rather lovely Macao Blue Metallic if you’d like your £76,675 drop-top to give an extra nod to the 30-year-old E30 M3 it celebrates. The yellow in the pictures (Mandarin II) is also lovely, but BMW UK has confirmed that it’s for other markets.
Pretty much all of the special edition’s upgrades are cosmetic. The leather trim comes in a pre-selected colour to complement whatever exterior shade you choose: for the UK it’s principally black, with either Fjord Blue or Silverstone accents.
You get contrast stitching, floor mats with the correct colour piping, carbonfibre interior trim and, of course, the exact production number of each car on the passenger side of the dashboard. The door sills and headrests bear the ‘30 Jahre Edition’ logo.
Matt-finish Orbit Grey 20-inch wheels are pure metal sexiness. The shadowy design theme continues with dark grey kidney grille surround trim, side ‘gills’ and model badge.
It goes on sale in BMW’s biggest global markets this month, with Germany and the US two of the other main locations.

wait, so what are you paying almost 15000 pounds more for, if the cars perfomance is the same?
fancy name?
Buyers: why does it cost so much?

Are BMW turning into Lotus or something?
Here bmw arent saying its the new most powerful bmw ever
No, lotus actually make proper upgrades to their cars
Probably just limited production…
Read the article, it said 300 will be made.
I remember when special editions were a big deal. Now they’re just marketing ploys.
Don’t see the indicators anywhere
International shortage of blinker fluid.
M4 Convertible? NOBODY wants these things! The weight penalty is just too huge. I have never seen an M4 Convertible or even an E93 M3 Convertible. Weirdly more than 50% of E46 M3s I see are convertibles though.
E93 M3s are literally everywhere, what?
Never seen an M4 vert though. guess they bought F-types instead
Am I the only one that doesn’t like the look of the convertibles M4’s at all?
Im a bmw guy but im getting a bjt tired of all these diffefent versions of the m3 and their ridiculous prices.
Its an M4 ….not an M3 … that makes it more stupid
30 years M3 cabrio celebrated on an M4. BMW … go home your drunk!
*you’re
I doubt anyone, let alone BMW can make a convertible Saloon
