The BMW M760Li xDrive Is A 592bhp V12 Autobahn Weapon
Just like buses, it seems if you’ve been waiting ages for a fast BMW 7-series, two come along at once. Only a few days ago the 600bhp Alpina B7 was revealed, and now, BMW has released its own uber-7.
It’s still not quite an M7: as you may have already worked out from the M760Li designation, this car is the work of M Performance, rather than M Division. It’s not far off as powerful as the Alpina though, with its 6.6-litre, twin-turbo V12 good for 592bhp. The four-wheel drive hulk can go from 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds, although unlike the V8 Alpina this one has an electronic limiter to spoil the fun at 155mph. Boo.
The M760Li is the first V12 machine in the current G11/12 7-series, and it hopefully should be a little less hushed than previous BMW 12-pots thanks to an active quad exhaust with bypass valves. And although it’s four-wheel drive, it should be a rear-led thing, with the xDrive system fettled to send more of the V12’s grunt to the rear than in other all-wheel drive BMWs.
There’s no word on pricing just yet, but with the current range-topping 7-series - the V8-powered 750i - costing £79,970, closer to and potentially over £90,000 is what we’re expecting.

Looks Alpina, Engine M760 because V12! and no a any V12 a BMW V12 boy!
How long will you give it before someone makes a hell of a lot more power out of this V12?
I have no problem with the 7 series, I really don’t. However, BMW if you want to seriously take Mercedes on in this market, how about an interior that doesn’t look like every single car in your class? I get diamond stitched leather seats, proper interior lighting, and anything else that shows off a presence in the Mercedes. This is rightfully so,; I payed quite a bit of money.
Then we get to a 7 series and what’s this? It looks like a 5 series interior decided to get fatter and a ricer took to adding LEDs to it to make the car look more “bawler”.
I am just like…BMW please bring back a high reving N/A 3/4Series back. PLEASE just three things: high reving inline 6 N/A in a lightweight chasis. You can keep all that boring luxury stuff. I go rockclimbing and roadtripping. A SPA can be visited if I am f*cking dead..
So 7300 isn’t exaclty high revving? (The S55 goes to 7300 in case you don’t know) The new M3 is 4secs faster around the TG track than the old M3.
Aaaaand much faster than the old old M3 E46 …
None, the s65, please.
New tyres required every 500 miles. :)
