Brace Yourselves: An Audi RS Q7 Is On The Way

If the RS Q3 was a hint that quattro GmbH is willing to have a fiddle with pretty much any Audi, the high-performance division’s latest effort will serve as confirmation. Why? Because Audi’s enormous Q7 SUV is about to receive the RS treatment. Yep, you heard right. Speaking to Top Gear, company insiders confirmed that a go-faster Q7 is on the way, and it’ll almost certainly be badged as an RS.

Brace Yourselves: An Audi RS Q7 Is On The Way

It’s not quite as daft an idea as it sounds, as the recently revealed second-generation Q7 shed a colossal 325kg over the portly outgoing model. The company insider that spoke to Top Gear suggested that a diesel engine could be used to power this new, less porky Q7, but not the V12 TDI unit found in the older car due to its hefty weight.

Should the RS Q7 go into production, it’d rival the Mercedes ML 63 and BMW X5 M.
