Brace Yourselves: An Audi TT Saloon Could Be On The Way
When we saw this rendering of a four-door Sportbrake TT by Theophilus Chin, we thought it looked cool, but not something you'd be likely to ever see in Audi showrooms. However, it looks like a four-door TT could well be on the way. Audi technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg has been quoted saying that the German company is "working on future derivatives of the TT...we are looking to see if there is more we can do," before hinting that the TT could be extended as a family car.
This would undoubtedly mean a saloon variant aimed at stealing sales from the Mercedes CLA, or as an outside bet, maybe even a chunky Allroad version, as envisioned above by X-Tomi design.
Coupe sales as a whole are down in the auto industry, so making a TT saloon isn't as strange a decision as you might think, and with the flexibility of VW Group's MQB platform, it wouldn't be too difficult to develop.
Regardless, a four-door TT would still be another curious niche filled by Audi, which already has the A3 saloon to take the fight to the CLA.
