Bugatti Wants You To Buy £51m Worth Of Veyrons, Or Else
In the world of super-elite hypercars, sales are rife. A limited run and ridiculous price is usually enough to get the super rich hooked, the Veyron coupe being a good example.
Of the 300 coupes made, all cars found homes by 2011, but the 150 Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse convertible models didn't fare so well. For that reason, Bugatti is now sitting on 40 convertibles which total £51m ($85m) in value.
Until these are sold, the French manufacturer has confirmed that it will not introduce a new model. To move things along, Bugatti has set up a Veyron Dynamic Drive Experience in the US, to give prospective buyers the chance to experience the car on the road and on a closed airport runway.
Although a replacement model is still a few years off, let's hope Bugatti shifts these cars. It'll be fascinating to see what's coming in the future.
