Can A 700bhp BMW M4 Beat A Ferrari F12 Over A 1/2 Mile Sprint?

The M4 may have half the cylinders of the exotic F12, but this particular example has been tuned up to 700bhp - not far off the Ferrari's 730bhp output. Is that enough for the German to vanquish the Italian at this 'Unlim 500' drag event?

Just because it’s a BMW, everybody is defending the Ferrari.
If it were a Supra or a GTR, everybody would have trashed the Ferrari.

Sometimes I wonder, what’s the average age on this comunity?

On Topic:
I do not understand russian, but is somewhere written that the BMW has 700hp on the wheels?
It’s stated 700hp and that’s it!

All manufacturers quote BHP or crank HP. There has been some speculation recently leading to an adoption of new procedures (SAE HP), b/c many companies were running engines on dyno without any accessories to fluff #’s!

From Wikipedia:

In 2005, the Society of Automotive Engineers introduced a new test procedure (J2723) for engine horsepower and torque. The procedure eliminates some of the areas of flexibility in power measurement, and requires an independent observer present when engines are measured. The test is voluntary, but engines completing it can be advertised as “SAE-certified”.

Many manufacturers began switching to the new rating immediately, often with surprising results. The rated output of Cadillac’s Northstar V8 jumped from 440 hp (328 kW) to 469 hp (350 kW) under the new tests, while the rating for Toyota’s Camry 3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 fell from 210 hp (157 kW) to 190 hp (142 kW). The first engine certified under the new program was the 7.0 L LS7 used in the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Certified power rose slightly from 500 hp (373 kW) to 505 hp (377 kW).

Should this have been a 1 mile drag race
the Ferrari would’ve taken it.

The BMW appeared to be pulling away towards the end, so I am not so sure. I think with these power outputs and 2WD the challenge is putting the power down though.
