Can You Double A Junkyard V8's Power By Throwing A Load Of New Parts At It?

The guys from Motor Trend's Engine Masters take their 42-year-old, 'garbage' Mopar 360 small-block V8 to see how much they can increase the power by sticking a bunch of expensive parts on it

You’d never normally throw expensive, shiny new parts at such a decrepit old engine, so this is a fascinating experiment. As alluded to in the video, what the Engine Masters guys are essentially trying to do is polish a turd - but is that possible in the world of engines? Get watching to find out, and make sure you check out the team’s mission to feed an engine nitrous until it dies.

In theory yes you can. It depends on the health of the engine and then there is the other big question, will it be reliable? Which again depends on many factors. :)

It’s an old American V8. It will pass 500k kilometers without effort.
