If you’re looking for a new car show to fill the void left by Top Gear, here it is. Car S.O.S. features the kind of awesome restoration projects we’d all love to get our hands dirty with, and each episode ends with a healthy dose of feels.

The basic premise is that the two presenters - Tim Shaw (former Fifth Gear presenter) and Fuzz Townshend (former Practical Classics technical editor) - find and restore dilapidated classics. But these aren’t just any old cars found on eBay and turned over for a profit. These cars belong to owners who are no longer able to work on them, whether that’s due to ill health or personal problems.

The guys secretly run off with the motors - including an Audi Quattro, VW Golf GTi and Jaguar E-Type - before restoring them to their former glory. The cars are then presented to the unsuspecting owners, who are immediately taken on an emotional feel trip.

The first episode features racing legend Sir Stirling Moss, and airs tonight on the National Geographic Channel at 8pm. You can find out more about the show, and watch some behind-the-scenes footage by clicking this link.
