The Chiron-Shaming 1600bhp Hennessey Venom F5 Promises 300mph
Claiming your incoming hypercar will do 300mph is quite a declaration, but that’s just one of several crazy figures Hennessey has put out there regarding the ‘Venom F5’. We’re talking 1600bhp. 0-186mph in under 10 seconds. And finally, 0-249-0mph in under 30 seconds.
Yep, Hennessey has jumped on the ‘0-400-0’ bandwagon, with a car that’ll supposedly beat the Koenigsegg Agera RS - the current record holder - by at least six seconds. How will the Texan firm do this? That’s the thing - we don’t really know yet.
The 7.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine is still under development, and other than the fact it’s GM LS based, not much has been revealed about it yet. A 1338kg kerb weight is made possible by a carbonfibre body, and there’ll be some kind of active aerodynamics package.
Other than that, it’s a bit of a mystery at this stage. Given the extraordinary claims being made along with the lack of detail, the F5 does have a hint of vapourware about it, but then again, Hennessey does have previous in the field of stupidly fast, low-volume hypercars, in the form of the Venom GT.
Oh, there is just one more detail, and it concerns the price: each of the 24 F5s planned for production will cost $1.6 million.

It’s one thing to claim stuff….and another to actually do it. Koenigsegg has walked the walk. Hennessey should keep shut since their engine is still in development and unproven.

Maybe it’s the shape of the fenders and the hard edge on the front. There really aren’t many other similarities though.

Probably isn’t. The Chiron can’t take 250 mph; I can’t imagine how the F5’s tires could take 300. Unless they did some clever engineering work.
Getting a tyre to do 300mph is still a big issue but what could also be a problem is putting 1600hp through those tyres to get that claimed acceleration. Its going to need some very smart traction control.
Hennessey probably don’t care - their customers probably can’t do 300. Also, they claim that they can reach 300 and Bugatti can’t because the F5 is much, much lighter than the Chiron which means the tyres are loaded less.
hmm some tires may not be rated at 300 mph but some probably could take it, if i remember correctly the heavily modified ford gt could hit 293 mph which is pretty close 😄😄

I am a bugatti famboy but gotta admit the f5 has insane numbers and great looks. What about the tires tho. Only ones that can reach 300 are racing slicks.
