The Classic Racing Game Burnout Paradise Is Back And Remastered
Criterion Games has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming release of Burnout Paradise Remastered, which will give you guys a chance to play the iconic decade-old game on modern consoles.
Burnout Paradise was one of those classic car racing games that you just loved to play. Open-world gameplay in he fictional Paradise City, semi-realistic panel damage (this was 2008, after all) and the option of online play combined with silly-fast speeds and dubious cornering physics that gave it a big slice of arcade charm.
You could pull incredible stunts. You’d have a crash and see crumpled panels, dented doors and scratched bumpers, and this came in an age where some racing games were barely even acknowledging visible crash damage.
The video claims that the updated release is basically the game the way it was meant to be enjoyed. The graphics are still old-school, just less pixelated, and the very pretty panel damage of the original has been maintained. Check out the trailer above and prepare to relive a classic.
It launches on 16 March for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, priced at £34.99, and comes with the original base game as well as the eight add-on packs released during the ‘Year of Paradise’ campaign. A Windows version will eventually be available via EA’s Origin platform.
Comments
Burnout Paradise was originally released on 22nd January 2008, so it will be exactly 10 years old by tomorrow. Isn’t 40€ a bit too steep for a 10 year old game? Remastered or not, the game already ran at 60 fps in 4k on PC, which makes that statement a bit useless. Especially when it even says “4k not supported on all platforms” and looks exactly like it did 10 years ago. So what exactly did they “remaster”? Nothing, as it seems from the trailer.
In case you don’t know, you can literally buy the game for less than 5€ on eBay used or 10€ on Steam new.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Burnout Paradise, it’s one of my all time favourite games, but asking 40€ for a more or less unchanged 10 year old game is ridiculous. That’s just EA’s attempt to milk as much money as possible from as little effort as necessary.
it should be a free update like every other game that got remastered in 4k.
Maybe they’ll at least add all DLC’s? That would be nice. Well, I don’t care anyway as I have the PS3 version. Tbh, this game doesn’t need a remaster, it’s too new
Original supported any resolution natively. No matter how crazy
Or, you could get the OG one for less, with backwards compatibility.
They better have Paradise city playing when you login.
It is literaly the name of the game so it should
TAKE ME DOOOOOOOOWN TO THE HELL WHERE GIRLS ARE UGLY
deep breath
TAKE ME DOWN TO THE PARADISE CITY WHERE THE GRASS IS REMASTERED AND THE GAME IS PRETTY
Wft?! From the trailer I thought it was going to be an andriod/ios port. The graphics look the same or worse IMO… what a cash grab

FailRace Video coming soon?
Im excited.
But also worried.
I wouldn’t be too concerned. It’s not a whole new game, and the only real differences we can expect are a higher resolution and better framerate. So no lootboxes, thank god.
HELL YEAH!!! One of my favorite games for the 360, so damn happy its back!!!
I wish they added like a 10th anniversery pack l. But nice game though.
I’ll admit that I was a tad disappointed when I found out there wouldn’t be any new additions to the game, but hopefully it’ll still be worth the $40.
