Classifieds' Car Of The Day: Audi S4 Super Saloon With LPG
We've noticed that the early 'B5' S4s are getting pretty cheap these days. However, what's interesting is you don't have to pay much more to bag yourself a later 'B6' S4. Why should that be interesting? Well, instead of a twin-turbo 2.7-litre V6 like the B5, the B6 comes packing a stonking 4.2-litre V8.
The engine is good for 339bhp, propelling the S4 from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds. The top speed meanwhile is electronically pegged back at 155mph. Unlike the previous V6 model, you won't have to worry about fragile turbochargers blowing up.
Of course, an S4 of this vintage won't be a match for an E46 BMW M3 dynamically, but so long as you adjust your expectations accordingly, the Audi makes for a tempting and very quick package.
This 2004 model we've found is well priced at £6490. The best part? It's been converted to run on dirt-cheap LPG (autogas), so you can run a brawny V8 super saloon without the bankrupting fuel bills.
