Classifieds' Car Of The Day: Stunning Toyota Supra Mk4

With everyone getting hugely excited by the new Toyota Supra concept, we're looking at the legendary Mk4 version of the car

After the spectacular unveiling of Toyota's FT-1 'Supra' concept, we've been finding ourselves nostalgically looking back at Supras of old, specifically the Mk4.

In its twin-turbo form, the 2JZ straight-six is good for 326bhp. Manual cars can dispatch the benchmark 0-60mph sprint in 4.9 seconds, while the automatic is a touch slower at 5.6 seconds. Both cars will hit 155mph.

The rear-wheel drive chassis is superb, making the Mk4 Supra hugely capable and great to drive. It's incredibly difficult to find a decent one for sale - many have been crashed or subjected to horrendously misguided modifications.

This 1997 car, however, looks to be in a good, clean condition, with the only modification being a set of OZ 17-inch alloys. Being a 1997 model (outside of the 1993-1996 window for official UK cars) it's almost certainly an import, and it's also an auto. Don't let either of those points put you off though, as finding a Mk4 in a condition like this is very rare. The price is fairly steep at £7,850, but there should be a little room for haggling.
