David Mahler - the man whose company was tasked with removing four Confederate monuments in New Orleans - had his 2014 Lamborghini Huracan razed to the ground on Tuesday. After the company - H&O Investments - took on the job Orleans, Mahler received death threats, and as the fire seems to be the work of arsonists, it’s suspected that the blaze is linked.

Last month New Orleans city council voted 6-1 in favour of taking the monuments down, partially in response to the racially-motivated Charleston church shootings, which left nine people dead last June.

Due to fears for the safety of himself, his family and employees, Mahler has now cancelled his contract with the city.

Im not for or against what happened to his car, I’m just asking the simple question we are all asking…who the fk leaves the lambo out all night in New Orleans….that sounds like a bad Idea even without pissing off a group of people.

Any attempt to destroy history is bound to be met with opposition. Whatever the connotations these monuments were a part of American history and should never have been removed. It’s just a shame that the guy who got the contract was the one that was targeted. He didn’t make the decision, he was just doing his job.
