Cosworth Is Joining The GT86 Tuning Ranks With This Powerful 325bhp Version

With a faster Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ looking unlikely, we have to look to tuners like HKS and Litchfield if we want a little heat injected into the boxer-engined sports car. Now, there’s a new option, in the shape of former Formula 1 engine suppliers and all-round internal combustion geniuses Cosworth.

The upgrades offered start with a ‘Stage 1’ package, which boosts power from 197bhp to 230bhp via a new exhaust system, air filter and ECU recalibration. That’s an impressive increase considering the lack of forced induction. If you want more power than that, other packages will follow that promise to boost power to 325bhp, and even 380bhp in a race-spec version.

The Stage 1 kit is available now at a cost of £2000 plus VAT and delivery. For the more powerful versions of the upgrades, you’ll have to wait until later this year.
