James Bond actor Daniel Craig has allegedly been handed a parking ticket, after illegally positioning his new Range Rover Sport on a revolving platform inside a New York convention centre.

Craig reportedly drove into the open venue and left his car centre stage as the gathered crowds were watching a promotional film starring Craig himself. The audience sarcastically applauded Craig’s parking, at which point he pouted, and then left to do his grocery shopping.

The British actor, 45, had been driving through closed streets to mark the launch of the new Range Rover. "At no point did we tell him to come inside," said Land Rover PR insider Xenia Onatop, "especially not in his car".

Craig could not be reached for comment, although a spokesman said: “I’m sure Daniel didn’t mean to cause any disruption to the event. Driving in enclosed spaces is something he's come to enjoy after filming Skyfall.”

Mike Jones, the parking attendant who allegedly gave Craig the ticket, said: “We get this all the time. Once, I had to give this dude a ticket for parking his Airbus in the Hudson.”

The event’s organisers are said to be “furious” with Craig, who apparently returned to the car over an hour later with three shopping bags and a crate of beer.

This is reported to be Craig’s fifth ticket in as many months. He earned his last after abandoning his Aston Martin DB5 outside a Scottish family’s rural home. It was blown up minutes later.
