Daniel Ricciardo Is Top Gear’s Next F1 Star In A Reasonably Priced Car

Red Bull Racing F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed that he will appear on Top Gear next month.

The Australian will be the latest Formula 1 ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’, with the current record - a 1:42.9 - in the Suzuki Liana being held by 2014 champion Lewis Hamilton.

His countryman Mark Webber is second with a time of 1:43.1 and four-time champion Sebastian Vettel, his team-mate from last year, is third on a 1:44.0.

The three-time F1 race winner told reporters at a media event on Tuesday: “It’s been a while since I’ve heard people say ‘When are you going to go on Top Gear?’ So the time has come…I believe Lewis has got the crown at the moment so it would be nice to take at least one title off him.”

Ricciardo looks set to appear on episode three of Top Gear series 22, which will air on the 8 February.
