Do You Like The Way The 2018 Ford Mustang Looks?

With reaction to the facelifted Mustang's new looks thoroughly mixed, we thought we'd settle it once and for all with a good old fashioned poll
Do You Like The Way The 2018 Ford Mustang Looks?

With optional adaptive dampers, a 10-speed automatic gearbox, a trick exhaust and - shock horror - a digital dash, it’s clear the 2018 Mustang has been moved on quite far in terms of tech. But what about looks?

Do You Like The Way The 2018 Ford Mustang Looks?

The major front end revisions - in addition to the more subtle tweaks at the rear - have certainly sharpened up the sixth-gen Mustang’s look, but online reaction to the 2018 car has been mixed. Does it actually look better than the car it’s set to replace? Does it have a ‘sad’ face?

Now we’ve had a day to get used to the ‘Stang’s new face, we want to know what you think. Get voting!

Maybe they changed the headlights to make it look more aggressive so people would stay away from it in car meets….

I really like it. To me, the front of the old pre-facelift Mustang always looked like they tried way too hard to make it look agressive and failed. The new Mustang looks a bit modern and with a lower bonnet, which I like.. There are still some things that look out of place, the bonnet vents, the wing and the side blades for example; but in generally I really like the way it looks now. An improvement over the pre-facelift model in my opinion.

Agreed, I also think the lower grille portion could have stayed like the previous model, but it’s only a nitpick.

I don’t know, the front (lights) reminds of the 2014 Charger that is trying to squint.

Skeptical Dodge Charger is skeptical.

The big three always borrow cues. The charger tried looking like a Mustang that tried looking like a Camaro that tried looking like a Mustang

If it weren’t for the headlights, I’d actually like it.
I mean, I get why, and I think the general shape works on the Fusion better (seriously, it somehow looks more like a Fusion than what people were saying about the pre-facelift Mustangs, and now it’s somehow hip to say it looks good?), but the outer edge pointing up and inwards instead of up and outwards honestly doesn’t do it for me.
Yes, that one detail ruins it for me. Tiny details tend to do that.

Ford got it so right when they designed the gen6 Mustang that they left no room for improvement. It was always going to be tough to follow that up. Part of me thinks Ford knew that.
