Does The Ferrari Mondial Really Deserve So Much Hate?
The Mondial is probably the least respected Ferrari ever made, but does it deserve quite so much flack? John Pogson - a Ferrari specialist and former Ferrari racing driver - doesn't think so
Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.

I think its just because ferrari been so good at making wonderful cars that they’ve developed a standard to themselves. When a car they make doesn’t meet that standard, it becomes an atrocity
I think the Mondial has been unfairly criticised - it’s a great car
I like this guys message. I enjoy many types of vehicles, from sports cars, to wagons, motorcycles and mopeds, and scooters, to step vans, and busses. If I don’t like a vehicle; it’s based off exterior/interior looks, or drivetrain, not brand. Such as a Prelude for example; I love the way they look, I hate the drivetrain layout. Or any car that doesn’t have a manual option- factory, or swappable, not a fan. I wish I could get a hold of one of the old Boundurant CrownVics, they’re damn near everything I want to do to one.
You just have to appreciate people that talk about cars with such joy and such passion, and most of all, people that owns a car that everybody hates for no reason and give 0 f*cks about it. Props to this man.
thank for share
“It’s like a war; in Australia it is a war” 😂 So true. In the words of Richard Hammond, “Every year ford and holden fans gather for a massive fist fight and then sometimes a car race breaks out” 😂
Yes.
TL;DW No, it doesn’t. It’s actually pretty sweet.
Awesome car that is starting to come to its own. A lot of urban myths out there about this car, the Mondial is a great drivers car, especially all the iterations after the 8. Want to know if somebody has their car knowledge bonafides? Ask them what they think of the Mondial; if they know their stuff - they won’t regurgitate old lazy articles.
