The Ducati Diavel For Bentley Is An Enormously Expensive Green Motorcycle

Following its collaboration with Lamborghini, Ducati has worked with another of its automotive sister brands on a limited-edition bike

Ducati motorcycles are known for being some of the most expensive around - generally, if you want to spend more, you’ll need to go to a fancy boutique brand. But the bike you see here is comfortably more expensive than any regular model in the Ducati stable.

It’s the Ducati Diavel for Bentley, and it costs £58,000. Unless you want to get the Diavel for Bentley Mulliner Edition (available only for Mulliner customers), which is £71,000. For reference, a standard Diavel is just under £24,000.

That’s an enormous markup, so what are you getting by spending tens of thousands of pounds more? A lot of green paint, for one thing - the bike’s been finished in Scarab Green, a hue lifted from the colour palette of Bentley’s Mulliner bespoke division. The overall design is supposed to be tied in with that of the £1.7 million Batur, which makes this Diavel look rather cheap by comparison.

There are also new forged wheels made especially for the bike and finished in Dark Titanium Satin, and the grilles of the front intake now feature a two-tone effect with a cheeky splash of ride shining through from behind. There’s a redesigned single-seat tail unit inspired by the Batur, clad in Alcantara and with a red underlay. If you want to take a make or significant other along for the ride, you can switch it to two-seat spec.

As you’d hope considering the price, you get a decent helping of carbon fibre, with the headlamp, engine, exhaust and radiator covers plus the radiator shrouds, side panels and tail piece all made from the stuff. The Diavel’s distinctive quad-exit exhaust has made way for a new dual-exit unit, meanwhile.

For the people actually intending to ride the bike rather than hiding it away as an investment piece, there’s a 'Capsule Collection' of clothing including a 'jet helmet' and jacket featuring "a colour scheme that reflects that of the motorbike.

There’ll be 500 examples of the Diavel for Bentley produced, and a further 50 Mulliner versions offering many bespoke colour choices. Customers will even be able to spec parts of the bike in the same colour as their Bentley car if they like.

Mechanically, neither of these bikes is different from the standard model, which means there’s a V4 producing a healthy 166bhp and forming a stressed member of the chassis.

This isn’t the first time Ducati has collaborated with another brand under the VW Group umbrella - it’s also teamed up with Lamborghini to make similarly pricey versions of the Diavel and Streetfighter.
