E30 M3 And Tsukuba Part Of GT Sport's Latest Update
Polyphony Digital is continuing to add new, free content to GT Sport which, given the slightly underwhelming amount of stuff in the game at launch, is absolutely a good thing.
Perhaps the headline of update 1.15 is the return of the Tsukuba circuit. GT players were first introduced to the classic Japanese circuit in Gran Turismo 4 - it’s the perfect playground for flinging around ‘90s Japanese metal, which should be even more joyous this time around with GT Sport’s super-satisfying handling model.
Speaking of ‘90s Japanese cars, two of the 13 cars are models which have first featured way back in the original Gran Turismo - the Mazda RX-7 GT-X FC and the R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec. Hooray!
The classic Gran Turismo theme continues with the addition of a trio of Super GT cars. But if you’re excited to jump behind the wheel of a Castrol Supra or Pennzoil Skyline then hold your horses, because the Honda NSX, Lexus RC-F and Nissan GT-R are all 2016 cars - still very cool, though.
Other new cars include the Aston Martin DB11, Ford GT40 Mk.1, Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo, and a GT3-spec version of Lexus RC F. The fantasy, ‘rules no object’, Adrian Newey-designed Red Bull X2014 is back, too, in both Junior and ‘Standard forms, while the E30 BMW M3 is also here.
Yeah, you heard me right - the E30 M3 finally makes an appearance in a Gran Turismo game.
The only downside of having the E30 M3 is deciding what to do with it first - do you take it out for a few laps of the Nordschleife, or head straight to the livery editor and slap an iconic colour scheme on it?
Here’s the full list of cars included in the update:
- 1966 Ford GT40 Mk.1
- 1989 BMW M3 Sport Evolution
- 1990 Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC)
- 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec (R33)
- 2014 Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Standard
- 2014 Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Junior
- 2016 Aston Martin DB11
- 2016 Honda Raybrig NSX Concept-GT
- 2016 Lexus au Tom’s RC F
- 2016 Nissan Motul Autech GT-R
- 2017 Lexus RC F GT3 (Emil Frey Racing)
- 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo
- Eckert’s Rod & Custom Mach Forty
As well as the new track and bunch of awesome new cars, there are also a few new GT League events for you to try out - a Super GT event, an event for the Red Bull X-cars, and one for the Nissan GT-Rs. If you’ve got a Playstation VR, you can now use it in time trial mode.
While the update may be free, what you’re saving in money you’re paying for with hard drive space as this update alone is a hefty 4.8GB. It’s available to download now, so if you want to spend the rest of your Easter weekend spanking an FC RX-7 around Tsukuba whilst your gorge on too much chocolate (and why wouldn’t you?), get downloading it now.

I really don’t want to buy it because #pcmasterrace (I have a ps4 too, chill)
But PD is making me neeeeed to…
Its about 30$£€ right now
20 downvotes… who is doing this? it’s getting out of hand lol
Why does everyone downvote your comments?
Or is this a glitch?
tsukuba? RX-7? I smell driiftinnggggg
It’s a shame they didn’t add a Drift mode for online lobbys
The thing I miss most since GT6
They already have the mode in the singleplayer mode
insert overused patrick “..and put it somewhere else” meme here
The need to jump ship from Forza is strong
Mmm still not worth it though
Another FREE update! Thank you Polyphony!
Why are you happy that it’s free ? The opposition (Forza) launched their game with 700plus cars GT wouldn’t be able to compete if they would to sell the updates
I am serious when I say I want to buy a PS3 and PS4, JUST to buy and play the GT games..
Hey ct you wrote skyline GTR Nismo instead of GTR Nismo in the 5th paragraph. No offence meant.
PD added the 2017 GTR Nismo
SUPER GT!! YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!
I hope Gr.2 also will include DTM in the future!
Seriously, it took them this long to add the x2014
I regret selling my PS4 so badly..
“Other new cars include the Aston Martin DB11, Ford GT40 Mk.1, Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo […]”
Dan, the R35 has been up for over 10 years. How could anyone still forget not to call it a Skyline?
